CHAPTER 4 –  DIXIELAND

My move to Atlanta became a break from the bitter cold and snow in upstate New York.  Atlanta is not New York.  I needed change with arrival in Atlanta exactly fours years before their 1996 Olympics.

Session time at Knotch Studio in northeast Atlanta started my first self produced music project – Mono Manic.  It is here that I did some scratch recording with the intention of producing my song material.

My efforts to hire an audio engineer first took me to Big Rock Studio. Frustration gave way to the discovery of  Summerhouse Sound Studio.  This seemed a better setting for my project with the talented Chuck Jopski and his guarantee that recording can be affordable and rewarding.

My home provides a casual spot for rehearsal and preproduction work. Much of the pre production work is done with convenience also respective to musicians Jim and Justin on the same road. We recruited Paul’s keyboards also within the city lines.

We joined together for the common joy of creating music. Our session results were often accepted under conditions fighting fatigue and mixed schedules.

Vocal mixes with Sharon, Ken and Kerry are introductions as proper to the variation of  style and musical type.  Their diversity is strength and character with our performances.
