CHAPTER 3 –  ONTARIO SNOW

Musicianship took me to a band known to few- River Road.  The band was name and same as the road where rehearsal was overlook to the Hudson River.  The band introduced me to studio recording sessions including a one round trip to CBS in NYC.

Part time work with continuing education did permit some time for rehearsal and performance in duet- “Gemini”.  We found a varied audience in small town bars and college cafes.  Intimate performances featured acoustic guitar with some of my original song material.

Tenor banjo and acoustic bass fused into a trio “The Ragtimers”. We played in auditoriums, under tents, over floats, barges, dinner boats, bars, porches, restaurants, clubs, carnivals, picnics, socials and minstrel shows.

I graduated from the State University of New York - S.U.N.Y.- with a bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences and I also worked full time with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation - NYSDEC.

Music was the parallel track that assisted my locomotion toward higher education and professional experience.

It was music to set me free.
